Pearl in the Jungle
As I go through my humdrum life, there is a musical that I wrote being performed on the other side of the world! Well, I just wrote the songs, not the whole show. I wrote it in Singapore last summer; it's a children's show and Singapore is where it is debuting. Here's the poster:
I hope it's a good production because I really get a kick out of some of those songs!

Autumn Leaves
It is the time of the year when when both the wise and the bird-brained take off and head for warmer weather, and yet I remain here in the cold, bleak, autumn world. Profound, huh?
So here are some leaf pictures taken from the forest behind my house.
The Herring Run River. Okay, maybe I missed the peak color time.
In the woods, I also stumbled upon this tombstone for a four-year-old boy who died in 1903. Creepy ... that's right behind my house!
A path through the woods.
More paths though the woods. Blah, blah, blah.

In-Town Vacation
We took a little "in-town" vacation yesterday, since it was such a nice day.
We started out with breakfast at the new restaurant in our neighborhood, Clementine. We went to the movie Happy Go Lucky next. Then we went to the Greek festival to watch dances and pig-out on some delishes dishes. After that we went thrift store treasure hunting before heading home for curry and Graham Norton.
There was a Norwegian ship in port.
The Norwegian vessel again.
We encountered a beauty parlor with a strange affection for clarified butter.

In the Dark
After lunch today, I walked into my classroom to find the lights off and the shades drawn.
A student explained to me that someone had passed out. They brought her into my classroom and thought she should be in the dark.
Another student responded, saying "If she passed out, she was already in the dark!"
